Rep. Frank R. Wolf, R-Va. (10th CD), issued the following press release:
The annual spending bill that funds the Department of Justice approved last night by the House includes $1.5 million for the Northern Virginia Regional Gang Task Force, according to Rep. Frank Wolf (R-10th).
The FY 2008 Commerce-Justice-Science Appropriations bill also provides $700,000 to the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force operating in the northern Shenandoah Valley. This task force, established in the 1990s to address the spread of methamphetamines in the Valley, took on the added responsibility of fighting gangs in 2004.
