Article: Japanese Inventors Develop Recording Apparatus Ink Cartridge

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 31 -- Yasuto Sakai, Koichi Toba and Satoshi Shinada, all from Nagano, Japan, have developed an ink cartridge for supplying ink to a recording apparatus.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ink cartridge which supplies ink to a recording apparatus, comprises an ink cartridge body for storing ink therein, a supply system for supplying the ink stored in the ink cartridge body to the recording apparatus, and an identification system that is provided for the ink cartridge body and includes data regarding the supply system for supplying the ink to the recording apparatus."

The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,249,821 on July 31.
