Article: REP. TIAHRT REJECTS BAD FARM BILL POLICY

Rep. Todd Tiahrt, R-Kan. (4th CD), issued the following news release:

U.S. Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Goddard) today voted against the Farm, Nutrition, and Bioenergy Act of 2007, commonly referred to as the farm bill. The farm bill began as a solid bi-partisan product, but the Democrats added a last-minute tax provision that represents a $7.5 billion increase in taxes on companies that supply high-quality, hi-paying jobs for American workers and it will result in more jobs being sent overseas. Not only does the farm bill raise taxes, it includes negative farm policy provisions.
