The city of Blue Springs issued the following news release:

Mayor Steve Steiner is proud to announce the 2007 recipients of the "Citizens of the Year" award are Blue Springs residents, Jeanie Lauer and Rick Nelson.

The Citizen of the Year award celebrates the work of outstanding business and civic leaders and their contributions to the improvement of their communities. Mayor Steve Steiner describes both Jeanie and Rick as "extraordinary citizens of the Blue Springs community that have enabled positive growth and citizen involvement in government tooccur for the betterment of our City".

Both recipients of this year's award will receive the Missouri Municipal League's Westgate Division "Civic ...
