Article: BAY COUNTY FREE PRESCRIPTION DRUG DISCOUNT CARDS

Bay County issued the following news release:

On Feb. 27, 2007, Bay County Commissioners unveiled a discount prescription drug card program to save Bay County residents money on prescription medication.

To date the plan has saved Bay County citizen's $88,274 on 8,216 prescriptions.

Bay County made the free prescription drug discount cards available through a program sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NACo) that offers average savings of 20 percent on the retail price of commonly-prescribed drugs.

The cards may be used by all county residents regardless of age, income or existing health coverage, and are accepted at pharmacies in Bay County. A national network of more than ...
