Article: Atlantic City, state say Bader development years away

ATLANTIC CITY - No matter what Steve Wynn promises, the officials who will determine development at Bader Field say the prominent Las Vegas casino developer will have to get in line with everybody else.

"Would we like Steve Wynn to come to Atlantic City?" resort Mayor Bob Levy asked Friday. "Most definitely."

But an array of local and state officials have said the plan for the 142.55-acre tract is to first analyze the site, determine what road and utility improvements are needed, and then request development proposals. And then officials expect top dollar for the tract.

In other words, don't expect a casino at Bader tomorrow.
