Three documentaries featured at the annual Human Rights Watch Film Festival in New York this year aim to put a human face on the issues and crises facing Africa today. From New York, VOA's Mona Ghuneim has the story. The directors of three different human rights films say they wanted to go beyond news reports and show what they say is "really going on in Africa." Tired of detached headlines and sound bites about human rights violations, the filmmakers say they wanted to share more personal stories with audiences.
