Article: NEW HAMPSHIRE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TO OVERSEE TAYLOR RIVER FISH SAMPLING EFFORT

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services issued the following news release:

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services' Environmental Health Program and the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department are conducting a fish sampling effort in early April at the Taylor River Impoundment in Hampton/Hampton Falls in response to the discovery of elevated levels of organochlorine pesticides (such as DDT, DDD, DDE) in the sediment at the impoundment. The accumulation of organochlorine pesticides from sediment into fish is variable, so collection of fish from the Taylor River is warranted to determine if the contamination presents a health risk to fish consumers.
