West Texas A&M University issued the following news release:

West Texas A&M University has long had an electronic system in place to notify students, faculty and staff in the event of an on-campus emergency or an outside threat to its inhabitants.

That system will be enhanced significantly with the advent of Buff Alert, an emergency notification system that allows the University to send time-sensitive messages to the mobile phones and email of Buff Alert subscribers regardless of their geographic location.
