FOR THE PAST 4O YEARS, Bob Sothern has been the guinea pig in a medical test of his own making. Five times a day, he stops whatever he's doing to measure his temperature, blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, and several other biological functions. He also charts his mood, time perception, hand-eye coordination, and physical vigor. He then records all the data for later analysis.
