Article: Michigan Inventor Develops Vehicle Air Induction System Hydrocarbon Emission Controller

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 4 -- Sam R. Reddy of West Bloomfield, Mich., has developed a vehicle air induction system hydrocarbon emission controller.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and apparatus for reducing or preventing hydrocarbon emissions from an air induction system of an automotive vehicle directs hydrocarbon from induction system into the crankcase when the vehicle is not in operation."

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,261,091 on Aug. 28.

The patent has been assigned to GM Global Technology Operations Inc., Detroit.
