The city of Fresno issued the following proclamation:

Deputy Mayor, Jeff Eben, together with dignitaries from California State University, Fresno will extend the wishes of Mayor Autry to recognize the athletic accomplishments of Central Valley football quarterback, David Carr by proclaiming Saturday, September 1, 2007 as David Carr Day.

David Carr is a product of the Central Valley, growing up in Bakersfield and playing football at Stockdale High School where he earned all-league honors and honorable mention all-area honors while setting 16 school records.

David began his career at Fresno State in 1997 and became a starter for the team during his senior season in 2001. David guided the ...
