Article: EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 07-117: GOV. CRIST ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER RELATING TO DROUGHT CONDITIONS IN FLORIDA

Gov. Charlie Crist, R-Fla., has issued the following executive order:

EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 07-117

(Emergency Management/Extension of Executive Order 07-86)

WHEREAS, the State of Florida continues to recover from the cumulative impact of wildland fires commencing on March 26 and continuing; and

WHEREAS, on May 3, 2007, Executive Order 07-86 was issued declaring a state of emergency due to extreme drought conditions and the threat of wildland fires throughout the State; and

WHEREAS, Executive Order 07-86 will expire on July 2, 2007; and

WHEREAS, the Florida Division of Forestry has advised that the removal of burnt timber is crucial to mitigate future wildland fire hazards and to make those ...
