Article: MARYLAND BLACK BEAR HUNTING PERMIT WINNERS DRAWN

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources issued the following news release:

On Thursday, September 6, the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) held the drawing for the 2007 Maryland Black Bear Lottery. A record number of 2,804 applications were received over the 30-day period online and by telephone, with the vast majority being filed online.

"Maryland's black bear hunt offers sportsmen a unique hunting opportunity while at the same time helps us manage a growing population," said Paul Peditto, DNR Wildlife and Heritage Service Director.
