If you're looking at the Michael Vick case through the lens of just sports or even criminal behavior, you've missed the boat. It's about so much more than that.

A lawyer for the NFL star announced this week that he will plead guilty to federal dog fighting conspiracy charges, putting the Atlanta Falcons quarterback's career in jeopardy and leaving him subject to a possible prison term.

The offense is punishable by up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine, although federal sentencing guidelines most likely would call for less, according to The Associated Press.

This case is certainly about Vick's behavior and involvement in a practice most of us find abhorrent. ...
