A survey conducted by a media house has declared the State of Himachal Pradesh as the best State in poverty reduction in India, said the Himachal Government in press release:

Himachal Pradesh has been declared best in poverty reduction in the country by India Today Group in its Annual Survey States of States 2007.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh was given award by Vice-President Shri Hamid Ansari in 'States of States 2007' function organized at Hotel Taj Man Singh in New Delhi today.
