Rep. Jerry F. Costello, D-Ill. (12th CD), issued the following news release:
U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL) announced today that the Jackson County and Williamson County Sheriff's Departments have been awarded $450,000 and $428,462 Methamphetamine Initiative (meth) grants, respectively, under the federal Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) program of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The funds will be used to establish the Jackson County/Union County Methamphetamine Task Force, which will employ a local prosecutor and other professionals to focus on the problem of meth use, as well as other prevention ...
