Article: The Quality Learning Curve: An Approach to Predicting Quality Improvement in Manufacturing and Services

ABSTRACT

This paper is a study of the potential of the learning curve to describe and predict quality improvement in manufacturing and service operations. A basic set of ideas is proposed in order to position the quality learning curve in its new role. The methodological issues of going from a classic learning curve to a quality learning curve are discussed together with various suggested applications, both in manufacturing and service systems.
