Article: EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 07-44: GOV. CRIST ISSUES EXECUTIVE ORDER THAT ASSIGNS STATE ATTORNEY HILL TO DISCHARGE DUTIES OF STATE ATTORNEY RUSSELL

Gov. Charlie Crist, R-Fla., has issued the following executive order:

EXECUTIVE ORDER NUMBER 07-44

WHEREAS, the Honorable STEPHEN B. RUSSELL, State Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida, has advised Governor CHARLIE CRIST that George S. Gonzalez has been arrested for fleeing and eluding and driving under the influence, violations of the criminals laws of the State of Florida; and

WHEREAS, the Honorable STEPHEN B. RUSSELL, has advised that two witnesses in this case are employees of the state attorney's office; and

WHEREAS, the Honorable STEPHEN B. RUSSELL, to avoid any appearance of conflict of interest or impropriety, has voluntarily disqualified himself and has requested ...
