Two years ago, Meadow Lanes, the oldest operating Black-owned bowling alley in the country, nearly went the way of Pittsburgh's trolleys, but owner Marjorie Mitchell and a loyal group of bowlers refused to let that happen.
To celebrate that loyalty, Meadow Lanes will host an Appreciation Day party June 9.
"This is just something to thank the bowlers who've stuck with me and who've donated to help out with my financial struggles," said Mitchell.
