The Cape Coral Police Department issued the following news release:

The Cape Coral Police Department has received a grant for 6 million dollars-the single largest grant in its history. The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) awarded only one Florida community the grant money under the COPS Technology Program. As the lead agency for the project, the Cape Coral Police Department will work in partnership with other public safety agencies in Lee County and the Lee County Government itself to use the grant money to purchase, implement and install a state-of-the-art digital radio communications system, which will allow every public safety agency within ...
