ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 19 -- Gianluigi Frangi of Bodio Lomnago, Italy, has developed an ornamental design for a textile bandage for immobilizing support of the thumb, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office announced.

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. D551,352 on Sept. 18.

The patent has been assigned to Pavis SpA, Milan, Italy.
