Article: Rep. Jones Introduces Bill to Clarify Roles of DOD, Department of Veterans Affairs Disability Evaluation Systems

WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 -- Rep. Walter B. Jones, R-North Carolina, has introduced a bill (H.R. 3581) to "clarify the roles of the Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Veterans Affairs disability evaluation systems for retirement and compensation of members of the Armed Forces for disability, to require the development of a single physical exam that can be used to determine both fitness for duty and disability ratings, to standardize fitness testing among the Armed Forces."

The bill was introduced on Sept. 19. It was referred to the House Armed Services Committee and House Veterans' Affairs Committee.
