Article: British Inventor Develops Ink Jet Printing Ink

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 22 -- Mairi Elizabeth Raggatt of Summertown, Great Britain, has developed an ink jet printing ink.

According to a description of the invention, released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This invention relates to inks and to their use in ink jet printing (IJP). IJP is a non-impact printing technique in which droplets of ink are ejected through a fine nozzle onto a substrate without bringing the nozzle into contact with the substrate"

The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,270,406 on Sept. 18.

The patent has been assigned to Fujifilm Imaging Colorants Ltd., Manchester, Great Britain.
