Article: CAMPFIRE AND IFPL RESTRICTIONS LIFTED ON TONASKET AND METHOW VALLEY RANGER DISTRICTS

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's U.S. Forest Service unit - Wenatchee National Forest - issued the following press release:

Effective midnight on Friday, September 21 st, campfire restrictions within the Tonasket and Methow Valley Ranger Districts will be lifted. The 1:00 pm shutdown requirement for chainsaw use for most of the Forest Service land on those Districts has been lifted as well.

"Fall is just around the corner, and seasonal changes have begun to reduce fire danger", said Fire Management Officer, Dee Townsend. "Shorter days, cooler temperatures and some precipitation have helped, but there is still a degree of risk for wildland fires".
