Article: GAO Finds U.S. Visa Program Subject to Fraud Risks, Complications

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 -- A report by the Government Accountability Office examining the national Diversity Visa Program for aliens entering the U.S. from certain countries has turned up indications that it could be vulnerable to fraudulent abuse and may leave many immigrants unaccounted for.

The report, "Border Security: Fraud Risks Complicate State's Ability to Manage Diversity Visa Program," was sent to Rep. Bennie G. Thompson, D-Miss., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, as well as to the State and Homeland Security Departments.
