Article: Swiss Inventors Develop Composite with Absorbent Layer

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 26 -- Joachim Bauer and Indra Roy, both of Eggenwil, Switzerland, have developed a composite with an absorbent layer.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a multilayer product having at least one first layer, an absorbent intermediate layer and a second layer, whereby at least the first layer contains at least one first material and one second material. The first layer and/or the second layer is at least partially liquid permeable. The first material has a higher melting point than the second material, with the second material creating a bond to the second layer."
