WASHINGTON, Sept. 28 -- Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Florida, has introduced the Iran Human Rights Act of 2007 (H.R. 3653), legislation that would "hold the current regime in Iran accountable for its human rights record and to support a transition to democracy in Iran."
The bill, introduced on Sept. 25, was co-sponsored by Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Florida; Frank Wolf, R-Virginia; and Thaddeus McCotter, R-Michigan. It was referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
