The city of Lancaster issued the following news release:

The International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA) paid tribute to the City of Lancaster's California Poppy FestivalTM by awarding it the coveted gold level Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle award for best festival website in the under $250,000 budget category.

Sponsored by industry leader Haas & Wilkerson Insurance, the professional competition drew 1,380 entries this year from among the world's top festivals and events. Winning Pinnacle award entries came from organizations as diverse as The Pasadena Tournament of Roses; The Kentucky Derby Festival, Louisville, KY; and Walt Disney World, Orlando, FL.
