Article: Rep. DeLauro Introduces Safety Assurance for Every Consumer Product Act

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Connecticut, has introduced the Safety Assurance for Every Consumer Product Act or the 'SAFE Consumer Product Act' (H.R. 3691), legislation that would "reauthorize and improve the Consumer Product Safety Act."

The bill, introduced on Sept. 27, was co-sponsored by Reps. Diana DeGette, D-Colorado; Jan Schakowsky, D-Illinois; Betty Sutton, D-Ohio; Tom Allen, D-Maine; Carolyn McCarthy, D-New York; John Hall, D-New York; John B. Larson, D-Connecticut; and Joe Courtney, D-Connecticut. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
