Rep. Christopher B. Cannon, R-Utah (3rd CD), issued the following news release:

Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT), has signed onto a discharge petition[1] designed to force the House Democratic leadership to allow a vote on H.Res. 479, legislation sponsored by Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) that would ensure all taxpayer-funded earmarks in all congressional bills are publicly disclosed and subject to challenge and open debate on the House floor. Congressman Cannon signed the petition on Wednesday, September 26th.

Under House rules, if the petition receives 218 signatures, Democratic leaders must schedule a vote on H.Res. 479. Passage of the Boehner resolution would restore earmark ...
