The city of Richmond issued the following press release:
Mayor L. Douglas Wilder and C.T. Hill, chairman of the board of Venture Richmond, announced today that Venture Richmond, in partnership with the City of Richmond and the National Council for the Traditional Arts, will produce the first annual Richmond Folk Festival in 2008.
"The National Folk Festival is considered by many to be one of the premier events to be held in the area, bringing together people from all walks of life and from all over the nation who enjoy good music," the Mayor said.
