WASHINGTON, Oct. 10 -- Sen. Daniel K. Akaka, D-Hawaii, has introduced the Department of Veterans Affairs Reorganization Act of 2007 (S. 2138), legislation that would "amend title 38, U.S. Code, to establish within the Department of Veterans Affairs the position of Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics, and Construction."

The bill was introduced on Oct. 4. It was referred to the Senate Veterans' Affairs Committee.
