The New Mexico Department of Higher Education issued the following news release:
The New Mexico Higher Education Department has awarded $3.5 million to support nursing programs at the state's public colleges and universities. A total of 17 New Mexico colleges and universities received funding in amounts ranging from $50,000 to $500,000 to help address the state's critical nursing shortage. In addition, the Department received $500,000 for institutions to provide a supplemental compensation package for nursing faculty and staff that will be disbursed this month.
