The Pennsylvania Department of Education issued the following news release:

Secretary of Education Gerald L. Zahorchak today celebrated National School Lunch Week by eating a nutritious lunch with students at Elmwood Elementary School students in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County.

This week promotes the National School Lunch program and encourages students to eat healthy, well-balanced meals.

"Teaching younger children to adopt healthy eating habits will have a great impact throughout their entire lives," Zahorchak said. "The department has put great emphasis on nutrition, and the school lunch program embodies a healthy meal."
