Article: MEMBERS OF CLOSED HEALTH CLUBS MAY QUALIFY FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM STATE'S HEALTH CLUB GUARANTY FUND

The Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection issued the following news release:

Former members of recently-closed health and fitness clubs across the state are urged to apply to Connecticut's Health Club Guaranty Fund if the business does not provide reimbursement for their prepaid membership fees, Commissioner Jerry Farrell, Jr. said today.

"For more than 20 years, this Fund created by State law has been protecting consumers from losing money if their health club closes," Farrell said. "Each individual affected could receive up to 100% of their pro-rated membership fees from the Fund.
