Pennsylvania State Rep. Merle H. Phillips, R-Northumberland (108th District), issued the following news release:

All eligible high school seniors planning to further their education after graduation are encouraged to apply for the Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship, announced Rep. Russ Fairchild (R-Snyder/Union) and Rep. Merle Phillips (R-Northumberland/Snyder). The deadline to apply is May 1. The Byrd Scholarship Program is a federally-funded program that offers merit scholarships to outstanding high school seniors who have been accepted at an institution of higher education. The program rewards academic excellence in high school and encourages students to continue their education. ...
