Rep. John D. Dingell, D-Mich. (15th CD), issued the following statement:
Congressman John D. Dingell (D-MI15) released the following statement on the six month anniversary of the shootings at Virginia Tech and the status of the National Instant Background Check System (NICS) Improvement Act:
"My heart goes out to the families of those murdered at Virginia Tech. The shooting was especially tragic because it could have been prevented through proper enforcement of the existing gun laws. I sincerely hope the Senate will soon pass the NICS Improvement Act and send it to the President for signature."
