In my ongoing effort to provide greater school property tax relief to the citizens of Pennsylvania, I will re-introduce legislation that would reduce school property taxes by as much as 45 percent per homestead.
Last year, the House passed legislation that I crafted that would have made significant school property tax reductions. Unfortunately, the Senate did not take up the proposal, now many of my colleagues are beginning to see the wisdom of moving toward a sales tax and away from school property taxes as a way to fund public education.
