Article: CLIMATE-MODEL DATA EARNS NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

The U.S. Department of Energy's Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory issued the following newsletter:

Nearly 40 Laboratory employees are key scientific contributors to the reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.

And their work has paid off in the form of a Nobel Peace Prize.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee last Friday decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2007 is to be shared, in two equal parts, between the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and former Vice President Al Gore for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about manmade climate change, and to lay the foundation for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.
