FROM: Billy K. Cannaday, Jr.Superintendent of Public Instruction

SUBJECT: School Nutrition Program State Reimbursement Payment for the National School Lunch Program

Federal Regulations (7CFR 210.17) require states to appropriate a minimum level of state funds to be paid as reimbursement to school divisions that participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP). The required minimum funding level for Virginia is $5,801,932.

The per meal lunch reimbursement rate is calculated by dividing the funding level by the total number of lunches served in the previous school year. The per meal ...
