Japanese Inventor Develops Fuel Pressure Regulator

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 3 -- Masaaki Konishi of Chiryu, Japan, has developed a fuel pressure regulator.

According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, the invention relates to a "fuel pressure regulator for use in internal combustion engines. The fuel pressure regulator includes a valve seat and a vale body disposed downstream of the valve seat and is designed to move the valve body away from the valve seat through the pressure of fuel applied directly to the valve body. This eliminates the need for a diaphragm and results in a simplified structure of the fuel pressure regulator."The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,287,546 on Oct. 30.The patent has been assigned to Denso Corp., ...
