Article: HOMELESS YOUTH AWARENESS MONTH IS NOVEMBER 2007

The Colorado Department of Education issued the following news release:

The United States Senate has designated the month of November 2007 as National Homeless Youth Awareness Month to increase awareness of the issues facing homeless and runaway youth.

The designation is intended to boost awareness about the role all community members play in preventing and ending youth homelessness.

In the 2005-2006 school year, school districts identified 12,689 students experiencing homelessness in Colorado.
