Vadodara (Gujarat), Nov. 6 -- Sixteen Muslim couples, belonging to the families of 2002 Godhra communal riots, have tied the nuptial knot at a mass marriage ceremony in Vadodra.

The credit for this mass marriage goes to Adarsh Seva Trust (AST), a city-based voluntary body, that is determined to assist the victims of the 2002 riots.

Aziz Dangiwala, President of the AST said the mass marriage came as a blessing to the victims.

"These couples are from different riot-affected regions of Gujarat. Most of them are yet to be rehabilitated and have been staying in relief camps," he said.
