Beit Shemesh Mayor Daniel Vaknin says his city has been trying for many years to reconstruct its city center without success. On a visit to Greater Washington last week, he received some tips - he heard all about how Rockville built its new town center.
That meeting with Rockville Mayor Larry Giammo and the Rockville city' council, during which Vaknin saw the project and met "the people behind the wheel," came while the Israeli was in the D. C. area to visit with leaders of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
