A study was conducted to estimate the manufacturing cost and profitability of dairy products in one of the dairy plants from co-operative sector selected purposively in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. The major dairy products like toned milk, standardised milk, full cream milk, flavoured milk, butter and ghee were taken for this study from the selected dairy plant and the data were collected for the financial year 2001-02 from the processing and manufacturing and account sections of the selected dairy plant.
