Industry Canada has unveiled a high-level group of industry and university leaders, scientists and government officials to serve on the Science, Technology and Innovation Council (STIC) with the first formal meeting slated for November 18th. Under the chairmanship of Dr Howard Alper, the new 17-member Council will report to the Industry minister (Jim Prentice) on a wide range of S&T and innovation issues identified by government and assigned by the minister.
STIC replaces three previous advisory bodies and joins the Council of Canadian Academies and the Office of the National Science Advisor as a primary source of S&T advice at the federal level. Industry Canada officials are ...
