OFFICIALLY, hotshot Newfoundland director Jillian Keiley is making her Winnipeg debut helming a touring production of Tempting Providence, opening at Prairie Theatre Exchange tonight.
Privately, the 37-year-old Keiley is making a pilgrimage to the hometown of Primus Theatre, a defunct Winnipeg experimental theatre (1988-98) that played a pivotal role in her development as a rising stage star.
"Primus was a huge influence on me," says Keiley, who calls St. John's, N.L., home.
