Rep. Christopher Shays, R-Conn. (4th CD), issued the following news release:
Congressman Christopher Shays (CT-4) said he supports H.R. 4156, the Orderly and Responsible Iraq Redeployment Appropriations Act, which includes a reasonable timeline for drawdown of troops in Iraq similar to one he proposed earlier this year.
The proposal, on which the House will vote today, includes a troop drawdown timeline that mirrors an amendment Shays offered to H.R. 3159, the Ensuring Military Readiness Through Stability and Predictability Deployment Policy Act, requiring most troops to be drawn down from Iraq by December 2008.
