The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development issued the following press release:

The World Bank today announced it is making available immediate support of up to US$56 million from the existing projects for the Dominican Republic to help the government provide urgent assistance, following the passage of Tropical Storm Noel last week. The Bank will mobilize support for longer term rehabilitation and reconstruction, which includes up to $100 million in new financing in the form of an emergency loan.
